Chicken Cordon Bleu

This is great for company or a romantic dinner!

6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
6 slices of ham
6 slices of swiss cheese
1 egg
1 tsp water
1 c bread crumbs
toothpicks

Preheat oven to 350
Take the chicken breasts and pound them until they are about 1/2 in thickness. (Do this between 2 sheets of saran wrap)
Place a slice of ham and cheese on top of the chicken.
Slowly roll the chicken keeping the ham and cheese inside.
Place a couple of toothpicks in the chicken to hold it in place.
Place these on a pan and into the freezer for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
Meanwhile combine egg with the water to create an eggwash.
Take the chicken out of the freezer and dip in the eggwash and then the breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet or pyrex dish.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees.
Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. (Take the toothpicks out before serving too.)
