jonathan's baked apples

Baked Apples
4 medium baking apples
1 can (12 ounces/355 ml) black cherry soda pop
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon vanilla ice cream
1. Peel and core the apples. Stand them upright in a baking dish. Pour the soda pop over the sides of the apples.
2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
3. Fill the centers of the apples with the brown-sugar mixture.
4. Bake uncovered at 350° F (175° C) for 1 hour, spooning the soda pop over the sides of the apples every 15 minutes. 5. Serve the apples warm with a scoop of ice cream.
