Apple Crunch Cake

John's mom recipe

1 spice cake mix
1 1/2 cubes butter
2 cans apple pie filling
1 c chopped nuts

Spread both cans of pie filling in the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan. cover with dry cake mix. Thinly slice butter on top of cake mix. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle nuts over the top and bake for a few minutes longer. Best served warm with ice cream.

Note: This can be done with any flavor of pie filling.
