These really do taste like Almond Joy's. John had me cover both sides of them and likes them better than just doing half.
1 can Eagle brand condensed milk
2 cups powdered sugar
14 oz shredded or flaked coconut
milk chocolate chips
2 cups dry roasted whole almonds
1 tsp vanilla
Blend milk and vanilla. Add sugar slowly, stirring until smooth. Stir in coconut. Mixture should be firm.
Pat firmly into greased 9x13 pan. Chill in fridge until very firm. Melt chocolate chips in microwave stirring until smooth.
Cut chilled coconut mixture into 1"x2" bars. Place 2 almonds on top of bars and dip into chocolate using a fork. Tap on side to remove extra.
Air dry on waxed paper at room temp several hours. (Yeah right!) If necessary chill for 30 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen bars.
